American Moves

You may recognize the photo of this team, who not so long ago came together to conduct outreaches over the winter months. Sarah Smith will be taking over the role of Interim USA Director. She has a long history of volunteering for UCE on outreaches throughout the Diocese of Pueblo and knows the Christian community well. She is a firm believer in chastity and looks forward to helping UCE at home and abroad during her time with the ministry. The current USA Director, Samantha Stratton, is recently engaged and thus relocating to Nevada, where her fiance is stationed in the Air Force. She is deeply saddened at having to leave what she has dedicated herself to over the past six months, but thanks every UCE donor for their prayers and excellent feedback which strengthened both UCE and her personal skillset. Please continue to pray for both of these women as they dive into new worlds according to God’s divine plan! In recent outreach news, the American team hosted two events in April- one at St. Pius in Pueblo and the other in Trinidad. Drs. Kim and Ken, Sarah Smith, and Samantha Stratton worked as a team to teach a dozen high schoolers about their value as a human created by God’s divine plan, and how that translates into their body image. Protecting their bodies and guarding their hearts were ideas shared amongst the group, along with a scriptural study to back it up. On April 6, Samantha traveled solo to Trinidad to present a theological discussion on true love- the kind only God Himself ordains- and what it looks like according to different types of relationships, platonic, marital, friendship, etc. The event was sponsored by UCE and coordinated with the Frassati Group of Trinidad. UCE has since been invited back to speak at future diocesan events featuring the topic of chastity in both the Pueblo and Colorado Springs dioceses.

Samantha and Fr. Carl Wertin sang a duet about true love at the event on April 6, 2017.
