UCE Burundi Team Teaches During Brick Making Workshop

Maband, Burundi - Students from both universities and secondary schools attended a workshop during their school vacation in the area of Maband.
The UCE team, led by Bishop Martin Nyaboho of Makamba Diocese, was invited to join the brick making workshop and integrate an HIV/AIDS prevention message into the program.
In the morning students learned how to make simple bricks using local resources. In the afternoon the workshop atendees gathered round to hear the UCE message on abstinence until marriage, faithfulness in marriage, and healthy living throughout life.
After the workshop the UCE Team spoke with leaders from the community and youth leaders from the universities and schools, all of whom attended the workshop. They were very happy with the UCE message and stated that it will help them to overcome all risk factors associated with HIV/AIDS.

The message of abstinence in particular was highly appreciated by the youth as the best way full of honor to fight against HIV/AIDS. Their wish was that UCE message should reach university campuses to challenge the students who may have never heard the message that UCE brings.
