Parishes around Pueblo Pray on World AIDS Day
UCE Agape Meal 2011Pueblo, Colorado - Universal Chastity Education hosted its 6th annual World AIDS Day prayer vigil and agape meal on December 1st. The eccumenical event was held at Christ the King Parish in Pueblo, Colorado, USA. Over 60 people attend the event, and various denominations were represented including: Cathloic, Episcopalian, Anglican, Presbyterian, and Evangelical.
The event was opened by Msgr. Tom Adrians of Christ the King parish. Dr. Rev. Brad Munroe of 1st Presbyterian led the agape meal, and Rev. Ken Butcher of Ascension Episcopal Church and Deacon Steve of Christ the King led the participants in song. Michael Bahinyoza, a Ugandan and previous National Coordinator of UCE-Uganda spoke about the success of Uganda and the hope for the future. The participants also enjoyed a light meal of homemade soups and bread.
The prayer vigil was completely covered, and participants from various churches prayed throughout the night. One participant commented, "This is something I have been looking forward to all week. I was deeply moved by the experience."
