Lenten Agape Meal and Reflections

On March 13, 2016 Universal Chastity Education and Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church held a Lenten Agape Meal and Reflections, “Stories from Africa: Lessons on Overcoming Adversity”. The meal was led by Fr. John Farley, and different members of the community read the stories. The UCE Executive Director prefaced the stories by explaining that to understand the light that has come from Africa, participants must first be taken ‘into the darkness’ of the culture of death. From here, we can then see the great light and hope that came out of places stricken with HIV/AIDS. He also explained the chastity commitment card, and the message UCE brings to youth on outreaches (forgiveness, second chances, love, purity/chastity, hope, Christ, and God’s plan for our lives regarding our sexuality).
